Three-dimensional modeling has become an important part of the urban design work, it provides a scientif-ic and intuitive means for designers to analysis and express their design. The three-dimensional model generation system can make this process much more convenient and efficient.Many existing software can achieve this function,but most of them irregularities requirements and lack of modular classification.To improve the existing software,this paper try to make a preliminary exploration on the development of an automatic generating system of block based on typology,by analysising and sorting related specifications and design pattern.This paper consists of four parts:Chapter 1:outlines the importance of the development of an automatic generating system of block based on typology in urban research work. Analysis of the existing software features, advantages and disadvantages such as CityEngine.,and leads to the purpose and significance of this study. Chapter 2:Introduces the basis of this study, the main overview of the overall system processes, basic module and basic algorithms. Describes the system software platform and relevant knowledge of programming and its user interface and the associated operational processes. Chapter 3 is the core part of this study,introduces the multi-residential buildings, low-rise residential buildings, high-rise residential buildings, high-rise commercial office buildingsā€™s generate specific processes related algorithms,based on the of related morphology study.Chapter 4 make a summary of this paper,and points out the directions for improvement.The main results are as follows:1.Establish a system of automatic generation algorithm based on the type of street blocks.2.Initially completes the development of an automatic generating system of block based on typology on Rhino+ Grasshopper.
