Petroleum and natural gas energy play a very important role in developing countries. The country’s rapid economic growth and ensure that national security is inseparable from the contributions of oil energy. Many oil companies in China have also been involved in the global competition on the big stage, CPP as professional pipeline construction company has developed many markets. But from the project management point of view, CPP still has quite a lot of problems during the period of international project development, due to short time involved in the international market, lack of overseas oil and gas construction project management experience to deal with all kinds of conditions in different countries. Therefore, to properly identify problems appeared in the international project management, and take effective measures to solve these problems is becoming more and more important. Identify, analysis and summary CPP major management problems in international projects by combining with an instance of Nakhon Sawan pipeline project in Thailand, including cultural differences, talent shortage, subcontract management, procurement management, contract claims, risk management and interface management and etc. At the same time, the specific counter measures are proposed for those problems identified. Those solutions were proposed under guiding of project management theory and based on the experience of the famous oil companies in order to promote CPP international project management level, improve the project operation efficiency and effectiveness.
