| On August 13,2013,Jiangxi Jianglian International and Ethiopia Sugar Corporation signed an OMO-KURAZ 5 sugar factory project with a contract value of 647 million U.S.dollars,signifying that Jiang Lian International officially opened the door of the African market and settled in Ethiopia.As one of the few countries in Africa with a relatively stable political situation,Ethiopia has achieved remarkable achievements in the economy since the Eritrean ruling,especially in the decade of 2005-2015,and Ethiopia has established itself as a sugar industry base in Africa manufacturing center.In this context,the OMO5 project was formally started after being approved by the sugar company in November 2016 for a three-year period.However,in 2016,Ethiopia experienced a major drought happened once in 50 years.Since October 2016,there have been frequent riots in the Ethiopian region and national emergency emerged twice in March 2018.And due to the country's weak industry,a large number of goods and equipment rely on imports,it cause the worry of foreign exchange reserves.At the national level,the risks of political,economic,business environment have a huge impact on the production and business activities of foreign-funded enterprises in Ethiopia.At the same time,dulling the implementation of OMO5 project,this article also analyzes the risks of project execution,management and legal affairs in company level based on the analysis of characteristics of the OMO5 project.After comprehensively analyzing the risks of Jianglian International's OMO5 sugar factory project at the national and conpany levels,this article proposes corresponding countermeasures based on qualitative analysis.Although the OMO5 project has just been implemented shortly,many contradictions and risks may not be prominent,but it has certain practical significance for the implementation of OMO5 project,and it also has a strong reference for other companies. |
