The rapid development of economy brings growing number of the car, parking has become a great problem for citizens. The low-speed redundant traffic results from looking for a parking space, not only increases the travel cost, but also increases the traffic and even causes traffic jams. Many people park their cars on the roadside because of lack of parking space, which will disturb traffic order and the appearance of the city. It is significant to make the parking service informationalized and intelligentized by the use of modern technology. To solve above problems, this thesis designs the information perception and control system for parking service. By using this system, users can check the usage of the parking lot and reserve a parking space according to their own needs. This system will eventually reduce redundant traffic which results from looking for a parking space, reduce the waiting time of parking, improve the efficiency of the parking lot and ease parking problem.This thesis expounds the application of sensors in the parking information perception, researches ZigBee wireless communication technology and makes networking experiment of the tree topology with the ZigBee protocol stack. On this basis, this thesis designs the hardware of the information perception and control system for parking service, ranging from perception and transmission of information, and then to information processing and storage, and finally to the use and display of information. In terms of information perception, this thesis designs the detector of parking space by using the ultrasonic sensor and ZigBee module. The detector of parking space can sense the real-time state of parking space. Then this thesis designs the software based on the hardware of the system, includes parking information acquisition system, PC software and the information query and booking platform of parking service. The pivotal technology of parking information acquisition system is ultrasonic ranging and ZigBee communication. PC software is for parking lot administrator to manage parking lot conveniently. The information query and booking platform is for users to query and book parking space.Finally, this thesis tests the function of the whole system. Testing result shows that the system can achieve expected function. Users can check the usage of the parking lot and reserve a parking space according to their own needs by using the system. The information perception and control system for parking service has practical significance for solving the parking problem.
