Cement concrete road surface structure was wear off in 1-2 years, seriously impacting on the security of driving. Waterborne epoxy resin modified emulsified asphalt sand fog layer isa new type of preventive maintenance upgrade by fog seal technology. The main component of the fog seal material are modified emulsified asphalt or coal tar based materials, clay, polymer additives, mixed with sand, paving on the road can maintain or improve the road surface slip resistance. But the adhesive power and durability of ordinary modified emulsified asphalt is poor and the service life is short.Waterborne epoxy resin is epoxy resin in the form of particles or droplets dispersed in water as the continuous phase dispersion medium in the formation of the emulsion, is hydrophilic, low VOC content, low pollution, good stability, high solid content, low viscosity and adhesive performance is strong, etc. Adding waterborne epoxy resin modified into emulsified asphalt become a composite emulsion, can significantly improve the cohesive force. In this paper, the waterborne epoxy resin modified emulsified asphalt and the sand fog sealing layer properties are studied, the main research work general situation is as follows:Tested the main technical indexes of modified emulsified asphalt and waterborne epoxy resin, expounded the curing mechanism of waterborne epoxy resin after adding in modified emulsified asphalt, studied the influence of the dosage of waterborne epoxy resin to emulsified asphalt properties,founding the low temperature performance, high temperature performance and emulsion viscosity of modified emulsified asphalt with waterborne epoxy creased significantly.Studied the influence law of waterborne epoxy resin modified emulsified asphalt sand abrasion fog seal’s abrasion performance and anti-sliding performance influenced bythe content of waterborne epoxy resin, the particle size of sand and the amount of sand byorthogonal experiment. determine the main factors influencing the abrasion of fog seal performance is the content of waterborne epoxy resin, the main factors influencing the antisliding performance of the fog sealing layer is the particle size of sand.Based on load abrasion test, comparison of the curing agent, temperature and dosage of waterborne epoxy resin content on the influence of fog seal curing time, it is concluded that the mixed quantity of waterborne epoxy resin curing agent and curing temperature are the main factors influencing the fog seal curing time; compared the traditional fog seal with the waterborne epoxy resin modified emulsified asphalt fog seal by abrasion test, resistance test, waterdiluting test and coarse aggregate adhesion test, results show that the abrasion performance and anti-sliding performance of the waterborne epoxy resin fog seal are much better than traditional fog seal, the waterborne epoxy resin fog seal material has water dilution and better performance with the coarse aggregate adhesion. Finally, carried on the economic benefit analysis of the different maintenance measures, points out that the waterborne epoxy resin modified emulsified asphalt sand fog layer’s life cycle cost is lower than traditional fog seal and has good economic efficiency.
