Urban rail transit is an important symbol of the modernization for urban transport system.Emergency management is the basis and prerequisite for safe and reliable operation of the urban rail transit. A new era has come into being that many urban rail transit systems have fully come into network operations while the Chinese urban rail transit is developing and constructing. Due to the high-speed; great-density of the urban rail transit; great amount of facilities and equipments with complicated technology, a lot of operational accidents and other emergencies which has its own characteristics have had happened in recent years.Limited by closed space; crowded people; and so on, the urban rail transit has its great difficulties for dealing with the emergencies and evacuating people. The emergency management for the Chinese urban rail transit has not only its own peculiarities, but also faces many new situations; new problems and new requirements. By literature research, theoretical research, comparative analysis and other research methods, this paper defined the urban rail transit on the urban subway and light rail; analyzed the present situation of the Chinese urban rail transit Emergency Management based on the different types of emergencies and its impacts; the paper took "one case, three systems" as a research idea, focused on the main problems existed in the urban rail transport emergency management, with the advanced emergency management experiences of developed countries, combined with the Chinese reality of urban rail transit, put forward recommendations and suggestions for strengthening the emergency management of the Chinese urban rail transit. The paper intended to improve the emergency management capabilities of the Chinese urban rail transit, to ensure safe operation of urban rail transport, to promote the sustainable development of urban rail transit.
