With the development of world’s manned space science and technology, humanity has made many brilliant achievements in space exploration. China’s manned space program is also in the stage of rapid development. This project not only represents the defense of a country, but also an important stage of human exploration of space. Manned spacecraft and astronauts are the core of this project, astronauts spend more time to perform the mission, the astronauts living in the weightless environment would need to get more attention, especially Space food Systems, which is one of the technologies of manned space life support constituted. Food is the main protection of the nutritional needs of astronauts, and good food is for protecting astronaut’s psychological care. Special space mission means special space food system and it can’t be the same with the ground, where a kitchen is full of all kinds of cooking equipment. During the flight food of our astronauts is based mainly on Chinese dishes, these foods usually require heating in order to have better taste, accompanied by space food heating equipment is very important. Since the China’s Shenzhou technological development of each device in a variety of spacecraft systems maturing, but the development and design of the space food heating products is still in the preliminary stages. Therefore, this research studies the United States, the former Soviet Union, Russia and the international food system development, which can learn to identify food heating equipment design features, study the impact of the food culture in these countries and regions, the flight time and the astronauts on the space food composition heater design, of domestic astronaut target population to domestic current level of space science and technology, the characteristics of the spacecraft and the space station is based, fully consider the physical impact of space equipment engineering and technical requirements and weightless environment on food heating, using design-related products principle, designed for Chinese astronauts, with Chinese cultural characteristics, practical and beautiful space food heater. I hope the theory and methods that been used in this research of space food heater design, and the result of this research will be useful for the future researches.
