As a traditional commercial space,food market plays an important role in urban space.It is not only an important service space for daily life,but also the best place for neighborhood communication.From the perspective of urban cultural development,the food market is not only a trading space,but also a kind of life experience and cultural display.In the past,food markets were labeled "dirty and messy" because of poor sanitation,aging equipment and heavy traffic.In 2017,Beijing launched the special action of "relieving,regulating and promoting promotion",and the food market is also the focus of this urban promotion.According to the survey,under the guidance of special actions,by the second half of 2019,most of Beijing's food markets have completed the transformation and upgrading work,and many of them have been forced to close down due to the needs of urban dispersion.The sanitation,equipment and transportation of the reformed food market have been improved,but according to the survey,many new problems have appeared in the reformed food market,the original atmosphere of the food market has been changed,and the popularity has also declined.The Beijing Urban Master Plan(2016-2035)proposes to continuously improve the quality of urban development,the quality of human settlements,people's quality of life,urban competitiveness and achieve sustainable urban development.As the basic space of people's life,the improvement of space quality and vitality of food market is conducive to the improvement of urban living environment and people's living quality.Therefore,this paper attempts to study the food market,and put forward strategies to enhance the spatial vitality of the food market from the perspective of space construction,in order to achieve the sustainable development of the city.In this paper,the literature review,the actual visit survey and survey summary analysis of the combination of methods.First of all,this paper studies and analyzes the development and evolution of Beijing's food market as well as the overallsituation of the current situation within the Third Ring Road;secondly,it investigates and analyzes the representative food market buildings and their surrounding environment status within the Third Ring Road in Beijing,and evaluates the vitality of these food market spaces,affirms the factors that promote the vitality,and points out the aspects that are not conducive to the promotion of space vitality;Finally,according to the previous research and analysis,based on the promotion of urban vitality,this paper puts forward transformation strategies for the relevant problems of the food market.
