The application of traditional coal-fired and oil-fired boilers in boiler heating industry has gradually reduced due to serious pollution and inefficiency problems. However, the electric boiler which do not produce noise and pollution has become the development trend of heating boiler. This paper uses electric boiler as study subject and proposes an overall temperature control scheme for it based on DCS system. The control indicators is obtained in real time control and the control quality is improved. The open loop control is used for electric boiler liner temperature and then the mathematical model for it is established according to the step-response method. The control strategies at the outset of this paper is the PID control. And also the Smith predictive control, PID control and fuzzy PID control methods are compared and analyzed. According to the control effect of simulation experiment, it can say that the fuzzy PID control is significantly better than the PID control and Smith predictive control in the adjustment time, overshoot and stability. The paper has carried on the analysis to the feasibility of the control strategy in the practical application according to the simulation results. Finally the PID control and fuzzy PID control algorithm is chosen to apply in the real control experiments. The EFAT/P experimental device and TCS3000 DCS system is the hardware for boiler temperature system with Moxgraf as the configuration software and CitectSCAD for monitoring software. The two kinds of control algorithms are compared under the same conditions in real-time control. It can be seen from the control effect that the fuzzy PID control has better control quality.
