Due to its perfect strength, rigidity, stickiness, durability and fantastic anti-slip performance, epoxy asphalt have been wildly used in many projects. However, there are still some problems in domestic epoxy asphalt like poor compatibility and low toughness. Therefore, preparing a kind of epoxy asphalt which has excellent properties can help popularizing domestic epoxy asphalt.In order to develop domestic epoxy asphalt with high performance, a new type of amine curing agent was prepared, the optimal formula for epoxy resin, curing agent and asphalt was determined via the orthogonal experiment, the preparation technology of epoxy asphalt(EA) and its curing condition was put forward, and the performance of the EA was compared with the contrast samples; as for the problem that the EA’s toughness is slightly worse than the imported epoxy asphalt, different hyperbranched polymer was prepared to increase the toughness. The optimum dosage was determined. How the characteristics of different modified epoxy asphalt’s viscosity change with time and the characteristics of their viscosity change under different temperatures were also researched and at the same time their mechanical properties were measured. Finally by applying the three method, namely soxhlet extraction, microstructure analysis, and DMA dynamic mechanical thermal analysis, the compatibilities and viscoelastic properties of different modified epoxy asphalt were studied.The results show that: EA can be maintained low viscosity in 180 min at 165 ℃, it’s more conducive to transport and pave; tensile strength after curing is higher than the other two epoxy asphalts; DMA studies show that under low temperature it has a higher storage modulus and better compatibility; it also has excellent mechanical properties. But the toughness of EA is not as good as Japanese epoxy asphalt’s. The performance of the H102-100 C modified epoxy asphalts are the best compared with other modified epoxy asphalt, H102-100 C effectively controlled the curing reaction rate and with the increasing of temperature, its effect on viscosity is little. The H102-100 C modified epoxy asphalt’s compatibility is improved, epoxy resin is continuous phase, while asphalt is dispersed phase, and it is well-distributed. Its toughness is improved too. Comparing the performance of each epoxy asphalt, the order is EA+H102-100C18>EA+H102-100C2>EA>EA+SBS>EA+HBPB. So EA+H102-100C18 and EA+H102-100C2 are improved and better than imported epoxy asphalt.
