Projection pursuit model based on genetic algorithms for Water resources use efficiency were evaluated in Yan’an City. Results of the evaluation to promote sustainable social and economic development in Yan’an City, the rational allocation of water resources and the government’s policy-making is of great significance. The main results of this study are as follows:(1) Combined with the current economic developments in Yan’an City, Analyzed water use indicators of water resources in the study area and between different industries, summarizes the trend of water feathers for many years.(2) Based on the most stringent water management system, Proposed Water resources use efficiency evaluation index system suitable for dry areas on the Loess Plateau, And using projection pursuit method to establish the evaluation model of water use efficiency in the county of Yan’an City, Analyzed and evaluated the Water resources use efficiency of every counties of Yan’an City in 2010, And analyzed trends of water use efficiency in a certain period of Yan’an City.(3) On the basis of Water resources use efficiency of the overall analysis in Yan’an City, Analyzed industrial and agricultural water use efficiency on behalf of the representative region, To interpret the results of water consumption and the development of the first, second industry in Yan’an City.Through the analysis result, Provide theoretical support to Yan’an City future industrial planning.(4) Through the results of the evaluation of water resources use efficiency in Yan’an City, Pointed out the problems in the process of development and utilization of water resources in Yan’an City, And to propose appropriate solutions to these problems.
