Wheel loader is a kind of typical engineering machinery equipment, which plays a significant role in the construction of roads, railways, architecture, mining, water conservation, docks, etc.. Loaders often work in various kinds of complicated conditions leading to structural damage and failure easily. The strength, reliability and durability of working device as the core component of the wheel loader will directly affect the performance and efficiency of the loader. Therefore, the advanced modern designing methods are adopted to study, analyze, and evaluate the working device of wheel loader.Firstly, the basic structure, operating mode and working condition of the working device on the wheel loader were studied. Also, external load calculation and stress analysis of the typical working device were carried out in the typical condition, which provided the basic data for the subsequent analysis. Three-dimensional geometry of the working device was established in the software Solidworks.Secondly, according to dynamics basic theory and methods of the multi-body, the method of establishing the multi-body system simulation model of the loader working device was discussed. The author finished the flexible parts of the loader working device by ANSYS and generated the Modal Neutral File(MNF). The rigid-flexible coupling model of working device under the conditions of the positive load and partial load was established by the multi-body system dynamics software ADAMS. According to the dynamics simulation of the models, the time-history curves of force of the working device’s key hinge points were obtained. It was used to analyze the dangerous working conditions in the process of the loader operation, which provided the basis for follow-up finite element analysis.Finally, the finite element models of the working device under the six typical working condition in the process of loader operation were established by the software ANSYS to calculate static structural strength. The stress and displacement distribution of the entire structure and the important parts of the working device were obtained to identify dangerous places of the important components in various operating conditions. According to the analysis of the working device under a certain range of horizontal and vertical forces, the appropriate stress distribution of the structure was obtained. Also, the stress-external load relationship was acquired by fitting the data of stress of boom’s several locations and the corresponding external load, which provided a reference for the post load spectrum composing.
