| Under the “three rural” policy and construction a new socialist rural, the rural economy and social face a new life, in this context, strengthening the link between urban and rural areas, breaking the urban and rural dual structure and promoting the equalization of public service become necessary. However, the traditional rural passenger transport has the characteristics of fixed scheduling time and fixed route, due to lack of flexibility, has poor performance in low population density of rural zones, it is difficult to satisfy people’s travel demand. but DRT as a new and more flexible way of passenger transport organization arises in this circumstance.At first, this paper study the basic principle and theory of DRT system, then analyze the present situation of rural passenger transport and the rural passenger flow distribution characteristics, putting forward the existing problem and its reasons in the development of rural passenger transport. Then through studying the case of DRT in abroad countries’ rural areas. summary the success experience and regional conditions that suitable for operation DRT. Then deciding to adopt the deviation fixed-route pattern and the hub connection pattern as an operation mode using in our country’s rural areas and a scenario simulation is carried out. Finally putting forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions to promote the development of this kind of public transport.Compared with the conventional bus, Research shows that under the condition of low population density DRT can do well combined with rural residents demand characteristics. on the one hand, it is beneficial to make full use of vehicle resources and reduce operating costs, on the other hand, it is starting from the perspective of passenger demand, has a beneficial of reflecting "people-oriented" concept and reducing the cost of passengers travel.it is a new way of thinking and solutions to develop the integrated urban and rural passenger transportation. |
