The global resource consumption and emission of greenhouse gases accounted for almost half of the global total in the construction industry every year. It is significant to take effective measures to reduce the construction impact on environment.The life-cycle assessment method(LCA) applied in the planning and design stage exists a series of defects such as lack of effective data, workload, multiform standards currently. Given the huge advantage of BIM&LCA at building performance evaluation, this paper mainly extracts data from BIM model to LCA software for the analysis and evaluation in environmental impact from the angle of integrated BIM-LCA based on the BIM data exchange standard IFC.This paper analyses the domestic and foreign present research situation and existing problems of construction environmental impact assessment by use of literature method and comparison method based on the theory of whole life cycle, building environment impact assessment theory and BIM technology. It also studies the premise and basis of integrating BIM model with LCA, proposing the concept model of whole life-cycle environmental impact assessment system in construction project based on BIM technology and making clear the necessity of LCA as the environmental impact assessment system kernel through comparative analysis of the advantages and disadvantages in mainstream architectural environment evaluation software function. Besides, it studies the mode of information transmission based on the IFC standard in the whole life-cycle environment impact assessment of construction project through the functional analysis of BIM-LCA system. It also verifies the feasibility of BIM-LCA and provides the reference and guidance for BIM-LCA comprehensive integration through the establishment of Access database and the use of Tally plug-in.Although the paper puts forward the LCA evaluation framework based on BIM model generally and designs the interface of system function and program, it takes time to develop the independent operation of the system by the lack of LCA database, the difference in international environmental evaluation standard and the complexity of system implementation due to the limited time and level. The work still needed to complete is to establish perfect local LCA database for developing BIM-LCA system program based on Internet of things and Cloud technology at the later stage.
