With the rapid development of the aviation industry, air traffic flow increases ceaselessly, thus, many domestic airports are close to or reach the saturated state. Therefore, airport congestion and aircrafts delay has become a bottleneck for the rapid development of aviation industry. In the meantime, along with the development of communication, network and artificial intelligence technology, the multi-agent system based on BDI model has gains people’s dramatic attention, which is especially suitable for solving the problem of airport congestion because of the character of intelligence and cooperation. So, research on the procedure of approach and departure combined with multi-agent technology has become an important research focus.Firstly, this paper summarizes relevant characteristics and system architecture of agent and multi-agent technology, the BDI model is the focus.Secondly, by analysis of the procedure of approach and departure in the airport, this paper establishes the model of procedure of approach and departure based on multi-agent technology, which combined with the multi-agent system based on BDI model. The model contains aircraft agent, database agent, flight agent, controller agent and airport agent. The aircraft agent is used to simulate the procedure of approach and departure in the airport. Flight agent is responsible the initialization of aircraft agent. Controller agent is the key of the whole model which supervise the operation of aircraft agent. Database agent provides the required data for establishing model by communicating with the database. Airport agent is mainly used to establish and display the airport structure.Thirdly, in order to solve the problem of airport congestion and aircraft delay, this paper designs and implements the approach sorting and conflict detection algorithm based on the model we built, combined with sliding window approach sorting algorithm and conflict detection rules.Finally, on the basis of MAGER which is a multi-agent platform base on BDI model, the paper designs and develops the simulation system of approach and departure procedure. Then, the experiment not only demonstrates the feasibility of the model proposed in this paper, but also can reduce the aircraft delay in the airport and improve the operation efficiency of airport.
