The Ordinary Design Research Based On The Primitiveness Of Architecture

In today’s era with rapid development of science and technology, the economization wave sweeps all over the world and the whole architecture enters a new stage. Numerous architecture sects contend a hundred schools of thoughts and architectural theories are unusually brilliant and wonderful. However, the chaotic and baffling situation makes people barely keep up. Someone wonders what on earth ordinary design idea is. Actually, seeking the primitiveness of architecture is a process that forces architects to pause to seriously consider the origin of architecture. This issue, about which constantly requires architects to think, relates to function, material and structure. Also it is closely linked with many factors like natural environment, urban context and humanistic demands. Until the emergence of architects that have a persistent pursuit and deeply thought about architectural essence, they no longer immerse in all kinds of so-called rushes but settle down to analysis how to consider from the architectural essence issue. At this point, the embryonic form of ordinary design idea gradually appears.Basing on the background upon, the research takes ordinary design idea as the object of study and proposes the argument in view of architecture primi tiveness. It extracts a large number of practical cases at home and abroad in recent years as theoretical support and deeply analyzes its design strategies and design methods. The framework of research consists four chapters. First of all, it defines the category, objective and significance of this research proceeding from the social background and social significance of primitiveness and ordinary design idea. On this basis, through tracing the historical development of ordinary design idea connotation, it sorts the development skeleton of ordinary design idea in all areas and discover and discuss the positive significance of ordinary design idea based on architecture primitiveness. Thus, from the aspect of design strategy, it puts forward three design strategies according to life demands, regional context and community economy: focusing humanistic, returning to the regional culture and grounding in reality. Finally, it concludes the ordinary design methods based on architecture primitiveness and specifically elaborates them in three aspects as space creation, shape construction and space construction by analyzing each relevant project.Ordinary architectures possess austere beauty meaning that architecture returns to a status of origin. Architecture is no longer the sign carrier of other objects but return to the origin status of providing a space for people. The natural and austere beauty combining with reasonable and effective application is exactly the essential significance of architecture being living place.The research proceeds from seeking ordinary design principles, combining with the thoughts on architectural creation source and the issues that require critical focus in design process, and discusses the ordinary design strategy based on architecture primitiveness and concludes the design method of ordinary design idea. The proposal of argument in this research is a rethinking on some deformity design tendency in current design industry. Although the argument not mature yet, the research aims to seize the rhythm of subject research through arranged logical analysis and build up a relatively complete ideological system and contribute to future design.
