A lot of motorized travel demand has produced with the rapid development of urban motorization and economic, that cause traffic problems such as traffic congestion, hard parking and urban environment problems such as noise, exhaust gas and energy consumption in many cities especially in large city. Due to the limited resources, the city couldn’t only increase traffic supply to meet the increasing traffic demand, the development of traffic demand management and intelligent transportation system provides another way to solve those problems. Park and Ride(P&R) as an effective means of demand management has received increasingly attention, and its efficiency of reduce traffic congestion and relieve hard parking problems in the center of city largely depends on service level such facilities provided. This paper researches on guidance system of P&R facilities to improve service level and utilization rate of P&R facilities. Guide more traffic demand transfer to public transport which has high load factor, adjust travel structure of urban residents, and thus alleviate urban traffic congestion and traffic environment.Understanding application situation and development trend of P&R and its guidance system at home and abroad, combined with domestic demand situation of P&R, the paper points out that P&R parking space guidance system is one of the key factors to improve its service level, design framework of the system and study on its key technology: space forecasting, information release strategy and guidance information board locating. First, modeling BP neural network to predict the number of parking space in the future in order to prevent the situation that driver often need to find parking spaces second time during guidance process, An example demonstrates the effectiveness of the model. Second, summarizing general ways used in P&R parking guidance information publish, focuses on information board way, through strategy of dividing guidance, grading information board and controlling parking spaces release to ensure effective guidance information publishing. Finally, quality coefficient model was proposed to choose the location of guidance information board through location factors analysis, that make more drivers can get effective information in time. This paper research on the above three key technology to improve the technical framework of P&R parking space guidance system, This is significant in theory and practice to promote the service level of P&R parking, enhance its attraction and guide resident travel structure.
