The western Sichuan region is Chinese ethnic corridor for Tibetan, Han, Qiang, Mongol, Hui and other nationalities to immigrate, collide and integrate each other for a long time. Both the architectural form and special cultural characteristics have their distinctive features. With the development of local tourism, more and more people begin to notice this beautiful and pure place, whose traditional construction ways and construction features also attract the attention of more people.Base on the induction, summary and research of building thermal environment theory home and abroad as well as the residential improvement measures of thermal environment, this paper takes the traditional Rgyalrong Tibetan residents in northwestern Sichuan Rgyalrong as the research objects and takes the status quo of the current residential thermal environment as the breakthrough point to introduce the type of Rgyalrong Tibetan residents, analyze the influencing factors of residential thermal environment, also determine the research focus: the interior thermal environment of Rgyalrong Tibetan traditional residents. This paper adopts the methods of questionnaire and field test to study deeply and in detail the indoor thermal environment of Rgyalrong Tibetan traditional residences. As for the analysis on the thermal environment questionnaire, there are: the constructing time of the buildings, local heating situation and heating measures, residents’ indoor and outdoor thermal sensation situation day and night in winter, as well as the subjective feeling of humidity and ventilation. The research, test and analysis on the Tibetan residents’ thermal environment have become the effective basis for quantitatively evaluating and researching the thermal environment of the Tibetan residents.Through making field thermal environment test of three residents’ dwellings built in different periods in Zhonglu Village, Danba Town, Ganzi, we have obtained the first-hand data and made analysis and discussion: horizontally analyzing the difference of every dwelling’s thermal environment at the same time and different measuring points, deeply discussing the reasons of causing the difference. Firstly, the thermal physical property of the palisade structure is the main cause of different thermal environments. Secondly, life style will also bring the changes of indoor temperature and humidity. Finally, heating is the main way to improve thermal comfort condition in winter. Then, combine with the questionnaire survey, contrast the longitudinal data of the residents’ dwellings built in different periods. Through analyzing the structure methods of traditional dwellings, the thermal environment of Dongpo is better because of the heavy palisade structure. It’s stability is good, and the bedroom roof is bask dam, and two sides of the wall toward the sun; Heisha’s indoor thermal environment is the second, mainly because only one wall on the south, and the interior door is always opening. What leading to the interior heat loss. But the living room has good thermal environment is mainly the use of fire and heat transfer of the kitchen; The sitting room and bedroom of Yingen are worse than before both thermal comfort is mainly because they are located in the layer, a large number of indoor temperature transfer to the ground, and there is no heat preservation processing.Extract the ecological experiences of traditional dwellings responding the local climate and the advantages of new dwellings on trying new materials and technologies, as well as put forward newly improvement suggestions adapted to the local economy and protecting the ecological environment. Such as building palisade structure should pay attention to the use of insulation materials and prevent the infiltration of door window. Try to take the windward side window to reduce or open a small window way of reducing heat loss; Floor and roof’s insulation should choose the laid of floor materials with small heat index; And should be rational utilization of natural resources to improve the Rgyalrong area residential thermal environment. Strive to construct the ideal residential thermal environment for residents of different economy conditions.
