With the global economic integration and development of domestic construction, large-scale projects in the energy, power, offshore platforms, etc. had been implemented. Benefit from these projects, domestic large transport markets became increasingly busy. As an important part of the national construction, whether these large members can be quickly and safely delivered to the destination, not only had significant impact on the development of the national economy, but also being of great strategic importance for the large-scale projects and national defense construction.When transporting such large components, related companies need to make reasonable and economical plans based on scientific analysis. In recent years, the frequent accidents at sea encouraged people to pay more attention to security issues of large component during water transport.Deck barge transporting large bridge had been taken into consideration in the paper, and some relevant technical issues during shipment were studied. Taking into account the large size of the bridge block and the first time in the history of transportation in the country, we adopted the way of ro-ro ship, transported the large bridge to the barge by using the hydraulic flatbed, and a deep research was given on loading and securing program for the bridge block. At the same time, the analysis research on the stability and strength of barge in the state of loading bridge was given in the paper, thus it ensured the safety during sail.The research had important practical value of the project and some theoretical guidance.The main research of this paper can be included as follows:(1)The technical work involved in the ro-ro shipment of the bridge block was studied, which included the choice of ships and tide and barge fixed and leveling. Facts proving, carrying out the operation of ro-ro ship in the appropriate tide would greatly simplify the work of stowage during the ro-ro process. At the same time, The ro-ro process was divided into four stages to discourse, and combining the working principle of stowage, this article gave the specific implementation method of stowage during the ro-ro process.(2)The paper gave a research on the bridge block placement program on the barge and the structure of tire rack. And combining with the common securing method of large structure, it developed a set of reasonable securing program on the basis of bridge block stress analysis during transport. At the same time, a security check analysis of securing program was given combining with the related specifications.(3)The paper gave a research on the influence of the breadth and the free surface to the stability of barge when loading the bridge block. And some improvements were given combining the theory and practice.Using the theory of static, it analysis the influence on floating state and stability of barge when bridge block moving on the deck.The calculation and analysis were given on the stability of barge in the loading state by using the software of Maxsurf, and it checked the results with IMO regulation.(4)In order to ensure the global strength of the barge, a finite element analysis was carried out. Choosing proper boundary conditions having an important influence on result, so when dealing with the boundary conditions, the inertia release theory was introduced. And it calculated and analyzed the stress situation of each component in the each conditions.
