The situation of resources and environmental protection is becoming increasingly serious with the rapid development of science and social, experts and scholars began calling for low carbon environmental protection and developing ecological city. The new type of green solar LED street lamp lighting system replaced the traditional street lamp lighting system step by step due to the great power consumption and inconvenient maintenance. Solar LED street lamps controller is the important part of solar street light system, and the controller determines the performance of solar LED street light control system. So design a set of complete functions and simple structure solar LED street lamp controller in order to satisfy the demands of reality is needed.The traditional street lamps adopt time control or manual mode, which can only overall control the street lights on a route, and cannot implement flexible control for street lamp system. Wireless communication technology which applied in solar LED street lamp control has the advantages of good stability, low cost, easy maintenance compared with traditional street lamps control technology. Considering the Zigbee wireless communication technology at the expense of the cost and performance for the compatibility, and its agreement is very complex, this paper aims to design a set of controller of low cost, power consumption and running stabilized to control the running state of the solar LED street lamp based on wireless communication protocol which independent development based on NRF24L01, which can realize the function of stabilized voltage, dimming, and wireless communication for street lamps.The planning of solar LED street lamp controller in this paper adopts two key technologies. First, designing a bidirectional DC/DC converter to realize the battery charge and discharge function compared with the traditional separate charging or discharging circuit. Forward to Buck circuit, solar panels are property buck to the battery charging; Reverse to Boost circuit, battery booster to the LED load power supply after appropriate boost, and its feasibility is verified by MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation analysis. Second, designing the communication module based on the NRF24L01 by studying the famous industrial control protocol MODBUS related ideas and combine the characteristics of the street lamp control, independent development of wireless communication protocol, implementation of LED street lamp switch and the dimming instruction to realize the wireless control operation of LED street lamp. This paper designed and developed street lamp node communication system board and remote control circuit, and finally verified by experimental test the corresponding function, achieve the design goals.
