With the rapid development of science and technology, the continuous improvement of people’s living standard, more vehicles have began enter into every family, the city traffic jams become more serious, how to make use of road resources,by formulating scientific and rational intelligent control method, it’s particularly important of the maximum to improve traffic capacity of urban road. The main road carries the main part of city traffic, wether smooth or not directly decides the normal operation of the whole traffic system. Therefore, the city traffic trunk lines are taken as the research object in this paper, the coordinated fuzzy control algorithm of trunk road traffic signal is studied.Considering the complexity of city traffic and the deficiency of the existing control method, reducing the average queue length of the trunk road traffic system is taken as the control target in this paper, fuzzy control and genetic algorithm is used for the study of arterial coordination control, the research on the development of urban coordination control has a certain theoretical and practical significance.Firstly, research status of the arterial coordination control is expounded, the theoretical knowledge of research needed in this paper is introduced in detail. arterial system model is established according to the conditions of the formation of arterial system; the trunk system model is established aiming at the problem of traffic information acquisition, the vehicle detector set method is introduced on the basis of the model of the foundation, and the trunk road intersections traffic coordinated model is gived; according to the analysis of the model line system, the overall scheme of arterial coordinated fuzzy control is designed.Secondly, arterial coordinated fuzzy control overall scheme is researched in depth.This scheme is mainly composed of the coordination level and the control level, the coordination level provides optimal cycle and offset for each intersection, mainly according to between the principle of two-way filtering and traffic flow situation of each intersection; the control algorithm and fuzzy controller of coordination level is designed according to the specific traffic flow; The control level mainly takes a singleintersection as the research object, for each intersection signal timing optimization,traditional two level fuzzy control algorithm of control unit which aiming at the problem existing is improved in this paper, using the improved algorithm to decide whether to phase switching or not, and improved two stage fuzzy controller is designed.Taking Jiaozuo City Tower South Trunk Road, industrial road and Jianshe Road three intersections as the simulation object, the result proves that improved coordination fuzzy control algorithm can reduce the average queue length of intersection, improve Tower Road link traffic capacity.Finally, because a fuzzy rule base of fuzzy controller may not fit the requirement of traffic flow, the paper adopts improved genetic algorithm to optimize fuzzy control rules, this method can make the fuzzy control rules adapt to alteration in different traffic flow. Simulation is carried out by actual traffic flow of Jiaozuo urban district TaNanLu arterial, optimized fuzzy controller has been proven to be a more effective way than not optimized way.
