When the Metro vehicle is running, a number of dust would be produced due to the friction between wheel and rail. Besides Its running environment is relatively closed underground space, there are a lot of dust. As a result these dust will be adsorpted in the bottom of the vehicle, electrical components, electrical cabinet surface. If these dust do not be removed in time, they will influence the metro’s performance and longevity, even this maybe cause metro fire accidents. Traditionally, the dust is swept by the spray gun in the open air manually, which leads to the environmental pollution and low efficiency, so a specialized dust removing plant is needed to ensure the security and stability of light rail train.The overall program’ design of this dust removing system is depend on the comprehensive and systematic analysis of dust removing equipment’s theory and functions, and combine with the real environment of the subway purge plant. Dust removing system: sweeping gas was supplied by the air compressor deployed on the device, and the dust-laden gas produced by sweeping was decontaminated through the filter, and air curtain system limits the dust gas movement in order to improve the efficiency of dust removal; Mobile platform: running with the track-wheel system, driven by a three-in-one(motor, reducer and brake) electric motor which joined the driving shaft with a hollow shaft, and the speed of driving motor was regulated by the frequency converter; Electrical control system: using the dual control mode,which contains the wireless remote control and work station control, the operation personnel can control the equipment in any area of the subway purge plant.This paper focus on the dust removing system’s design and calculate on the basis of analyzing the law of motion of blowing airflow and inhalational airflow. All these contain blowing air’s flow and velocity compute, pipelines’ design and compute, the fan selection and analysis, axletree’s design and check, using Fluent software to do the numerical simulation analysis of air flow, etc.
