A Research On The Traffic Safety Of Dongguan City

Since the implementation of the reform and opening policy, China has greatly developed in its economic growth. The development of economic has brought vast convenience to people`s daily lives, now people can easily travel around with various transportations. Followed by this tendency, the road traffic security issue becomes severer and severer. Dong Guan is a developed coastal city and its road is becoming over crowed which makes it under big pressure to manage the road traffic security issue. In 2012, there were 4302 traffic accidents in Dong Guan which caused 492 deaths and 4831 injuries and the direct economic loss was 5.61 million. However, the contradiction between “increasing motor cars” and “relatively limited road transportation capacity” is becoming more and more intense, and many traffic accidents happened frequently. Therefore, the research in Dong Guan road traffic security problem is practically meaningful to relieve the contradiction.The author mainly analyzed the situation, existing problems and reasons of Dong Guan road traffic. On these basis, the author rendered some measures to improve the road traffic security problem of Dong Guan. The specific framework and conclusion of this article are as follows:Chapter 1: This part mainly introduced the background, significance and purpose of this article. Meanwhile, the author has teased the relevant domestic and foreign works.Chapter 2: This part mainly defined some relevant concepts and pointed out the related theories quoted by this article.Chapter 3: This part mainly focused on the research of Dong Guan road traffic and drew the conclusion that the traffic development of Dong Guan was very fast since 2000, and the inventory of motor cars as well as the number of drivers have increased vastly which in return caused more frequent traffic accidents.Chapter 4: In this part, the author deeply analyzed the existing issues and problems in management of Dong Guan road traffic security. It pointed out that Dong Guan is facing great pressure on its road traffic, the contradiction of road traffic supply and demand is obvious, while traffic police are too insufficient to assume heave burden, and the road traffic makes it difficult for the manager to coordinate especially in the event that the road traffic participant are unaware of the traffic laws. The main reasons caused on above issues are: unreasonable city planning, outdated road traffic management methods, insufficient education on road traffic security, illogical management mechanism and irrational traffic policy structure with low ability of management.Chapter 5: Based on the existing issues and problems of Dong Guan road traffic security, the author has rendered following measures to improve the situation. Firstly, we have to establish a completed and scientific object system for the road traffic security management. Secondly, we`d better reinforce the education on road traffic security. Thirdly, we must strengthen the training of traffic police team. Fourthly, we need to found wholesome road traffic security management system. Lastly, we have to reasonably boost the process of urbanization and motorization.Chapter 6: Clarification on the main conclusions and deficiency in this article.
