Generalization and miniaturization have become an important trend of automatic test equipment. The existing test equipment mainly adopts general instrument resources and dedicated test unit adapter(TUA) to achieve the generalization. With the increasing of the under test weapon equipment model, the increase of dedicated test unit adapter makes the volume of test equipment become much bigger. In order to solve this problem, this paper develops terminal configurable communication resources module. Through terminal configuration function, it can replace the assign ability of TUA, through the combination of Wide measurement range of terminal configure instrument resources, it can achieve the purpose of cancel TUA and realize automatic test equipment completely generalization. So, it is an important application value to develop this module.In this paper, 12-way function switchable communication channels and 1 independent channel of 1553 B were designed in 3U standard size CPCI boards. Among them, each channel can be switched by software between a basic RS422 and other communication functions. Using DSP + FPGA structure to design th e hardware, DSP uses the performance DM642, with speeds up to 720 MHz, mainly to complete the command analysis execution, functional configuration, complex data management, data exchange and other functions; High reliability CPCI interface functions can be easily achieved with its embedded PCI interface unit. The RS422/RS232 communication logic, ARINC429 communication logic, 1553 B communication logic, RS485 and CAN communication logic control logic, and clock and reset logic were achieved with the FPGA logic. Use internal FPGA hardcore controllers for high-capacity data cache control, meantime, bus timing conversion logic was designed to achieve DDR2’s management and manipulation directly by DSP. On the function circuit, isolation circuit design and independe nt 1553 interface circuit design of all communication resources were achieved.Module software including DSP firmware and PC software. DSP firmware including command of analytic functions, functional configuration functions, complex data management functions and data exchange functions. PC software can configure each-channel’s communication mode, baudrate and control word, what’s more,it can send and receive datas through communication functions.In order to realize multichannel parallel data processing, it can read external memory in real-time. Meanwhile, in order to complete the debugging and verification of each functional block on the module, a dedicated PC testing soft panel was designed.Finally, the module was tested and validated in the new generatio n of test systems. Test and verification results show that the design of this module is reasonable, the operation is stable, and the indicators meet the requirements.
