Steel-polyurethane sandwich plate is a new type of composite structure. This kind of structure injects polyurethane core layer between two layers of steel panel. After solidified and strongly adhered to the steel, the polyurethane can bear forces with the steel together. This kind of structure is strong and light, has better water resistance, fire resistance and corrosion resistance and its stress is even. The panel has been used as bridge deck in real bridge structures. At home, limited by not forming the corresponding specifications and standards, this structure hasn’t used in actual bridge decks.Based on the above reasons, this paper comparatively analysed the results of model test and finite element based on the theoretical derivation formulas. This paper studied the bending stress distribution and stable performance of steel-polyurethane sandwich bridge deck, to provide references for the application of this kind of sandwich bridge panel at home.First, this paper deduced the bending theory formulas of four edges simply supported isotropic sandwich plate under local uniformly distributed load, adopting the equilibrium method based on the Hoff theory. Then, using Timoshenko energy method, this paper deduced the bending theory formulas of four edges simply supported orthotropic sandwich plate under local uniformly distributed load, and finally, analyzed the buckling critical load of the orthotropic sandwich plate under bi-directional compression.Based on the theory formulas, this paper had carried on the model test and finite element calculation at the same time. Comparison results show that the bending stress analytical value is consistent with the experimental values and finite element value trend, errors are controllable. The errors of buckling critical load of the analytical values and experimental values and finite element value are 5.96 and 11.05% respectively, have a good agreement. Through comparative analysis of the results of the test and finite element calculation and the analytical method, verified the reliability of the theory formula of this kind of sandwich plate.At the same time, this paper got the bending stress distribution regularity of the four edges simply supported steel-polyurethane sandwich plate under uniformly distributed load, as well as the buckling stability performance of the four edges simply supported orthotropic sandwich plate with bi-directional compression.
