Research On The Present Situation And Future Trend Of Commercial Space In Provincial Level Passenger Railway Station

In recent years, more and more new type of three-dimensional railway stations has emerged. Compared to traditional railway stations, it has improved in many aspects such as functional organization, spatial sequence and total image. These changes have also led to the evolution of its internal commercial spaces, of which the future trend is still obscure, due to a lack of research and detailed design code on relevant subjects.This thesis, based on study of the changes in provincial level station buildings, explores the corresponding development of commercial spaces. With the method of document study, information collecting, field research and questionnaire study, the author gains a deep understanding of the status quo of the in-built commercial facilities on the following aspects: the design and planning of commercial space, the density of commerce space and its distribution, type of commerce space, the relationship of commerce space and other spatial units, especially the waiting lounge, and the influence it has on passengers flow, particularly the flow of get-in line.Taken into consideration that the study of commerce space involves the field of consumption, the author made a questionnaire about the formation of travelers, their consuming ability, consuming habits and the current consuming condition, to have a clear view of travelers opinion and anticipation of the commerce space, and also the difference between a normal consumer and a professional architect’s idea of a good commercial space planning in the station building. This study has no doubt a guiding significance on the matter of spatial planning of commerce space in the station building.To gain a deeper comprehension on the most frontier design of commerce space in stations worldwide, this thesis also included a case study of equivalent foreign stations. Taken into consideration the special national railway transportation condition, the author absorbs the usable parts and integrated them into the bold outlook of the future trend of commercial space in provincial stations, to be the conclusion of this thesis.
