With the development of economy and the improvement of the living standards of citizens in China, public enthusiasm for physical activity rises, the age of “National Fitness” is coming. As an important carrier of physical activities, the gymnasium’s basic function mode has gradually developed from earlier “competition-core” mode into “competition+fitness ” mode. Non-sports activities such as exhibition and theatrical performance also enriched the diversity of the gymnasium’s function mode.On the one hand, Gymnasium’s over-reliance on the air-conditioning and other active regulation systems causes a huge energy consumption, and on the other hand it may easily lead to a decline of the indoor air quality which is detrimental for human health, these problems are clearly contrary to the original intention of sports activities. Focus on the climate of the humid tropical area, take rational use of the passive regulation measures such as natural-ventilation in the transition seasons can effectively reduce air-conditioning energy consumption and enhance the sports space’s comfort and health conditions.There are many systematic and comprehensive studies on the wind pressure ventilation, natural lightning and other passive design strategies in the existing literature, but the research on the heat pressing ventilation was relatively lagging behind. Therefore, based on the climate of humid tropical area, this paper takes the CFD simulation as the main research method, try to explore the internal synergism between gymnasium’s shape, interface and the heat pressing ventilation, and explore the design strategies of gymnasium based on this synergism.The study can be divided into two levels: the synergism level is the basis part and it belongs to the cross-category of architectural-design and construction techniques; the design strategy level is the application part which belongs to the category of architectural-design.This paper can be divided into three parts and five chapters: the first part is the Introduction, mainly clarify the background and significance of the study, related current studies in China and abroad, the scope of the study, the content and the basic research methods etc., which intends to find the key issues from the background of the gymnasium’s heat pressing ventilation research and propose the targeted research plan; the second part includes Chapter II and Chapter III, the study respectively focus on the synergism between gymnasium’s shape, interface and heat pressing ventilation in the humid tropical area; The third part(Chapter IV) proposed the architecture design strategies of heat pressing ventilation with a combination of the gymnasium’s design method and based on the earlier study.
