China’s ancient buildings have great value to be protected include the wisdom of culture, art, science and applied.With the whole society large-scale infrastructure construction brought the irreconcilable contradictions, leads to the remains of ancient buildings in China are becoming precarious, efficient system of protection method is an urgent need to to ensure its survival.This paper mainlyresearch on parameters and assembly of components of ancient official buildings of Ming and Qing based on BIM, establishing the model of ancient buildings on BIMandthe BIM implementation of the protection of ancient buildings, put forwardan efficient and system protection method of ancient buildings, the research contents are as follows:1. Research on digital protection of ancient architecture based on BIM:The paracteristics of BIM focus on the overall situation from the beginning, the components of parametric ancient building information model could be used to global, ancient architecture component assembly model have characteristics that include information sharing and collaborative work, study how to use the model of ancient building assembly to realize business process of the protection of ancient buildings computerizedtoguide the construction and assemblyof parametric model of ancient buildings.2. Research on parametric of ancient architecture component based on BIM:Digital protecting of the ancient building from the standpoint based on BIM, analyzed rules of the integral shape of ancient building and the size rule from computer’s point of view, establishing information sharing and parametric ancient building component model that have reuse capability.3. Research on assembly of parametric ancient building components information model:According to the size of the data of ancient building, modifying the model parameters reconstruction ancient architecture component that is required,using grid structure and vertical stratified to set up constraint system to realize assembly visualization of ancient building component. Through the reuse of information sharing components, realize information assembly model of ancient architecture, establish ancient building model of BIM.4. Application of ancient buildings assembly model:By using theinformation sharing of the parametric component and collaborative information of the assembly model to implement the business process of the protection of ancient buildings in the way of BIM, is the intention of assembly componentsof ancient buildings, and to verify the implementation of the protection of ancient buildings on BIMas an example of the economic evaluation for the protection of ancient buildings.
