Electric energy is one of the important energies for human survival. In recent years, the rapid development of economy, living-standard and the growth of electricity demand make a quick development in power construction. In China, as the most important electric source, the engineering constructions in the thermal power is of uppermost priority in power construction and the whole electric power industry. The design stage is one of the most important stages in power engineering construction and the selection of the main transformer is one of the important contents in the design stage. Therefore, making research on the main transformer selection has much practical importance in the future.Based on the literature review and spot investigation, the application of related theory and management methods, this thesis makes a comprehensive and in-depth analysis in the selection of the main transformer thermal power project. The main works include:(1) With the spot investigation in five key and large-scale thermal power projects of Inner Mongolia area during the past five years, the thesis summarizes main problems existing in the selection of the main transformer in power engineering.(2) With spot survey and literature research, the thesis conclueds three criterions in the main transformer selection:technical parameters, economic parameters and usage of the particular trade. There are five technical parameters, three economic parameters and seven usages of the particular trade, explicitly.(3)With the method of brainstorming, the thesis makes a preliminary index selection and stratification. With Delphy method, the thesis makes a further index seclection. Finally, the thesis eatablishes an index system for main transformer selection in thermal power project with nine indicators belonging to two layers..(4) With AHP and subjective weighting method, the thesis determines the weight of each index in each layer.construct the selection index layer integrated weight vector and selection decision matrix, and then established the main transformer selection decisionmodel of thermal power engineering.(5) With case study,this thesis implies the selection index system and selection decision model to Hohhot AD power plant.
