Automobile industry is always the mainstay industry for the global economic development. In recent years, with the national rejuvenate the country through science and technology implement constantly and the national economy has a rapid growth, which brings the automobile industry grow rapidly. As the important component for automobile, the national annual output about 80,000,000 pieces. TR company are the specialized connecting rod production company, through carrying out technological innovation, reducing technology waste, carrying out process optimization, improving product quality, reducing production cost, which to promote the market competitiveness and become the focus of company development. This article choose Cummins ISLE connecting rod production line as research aim, use the connecting rod junction surface split process machining technology as entry point. Based on fracture split technology to optimize the technology process, shorten technology process, reduce production cost and improve market competitiveness.This Paper mainly base on the value engineering theory, combining the view of design optimization, with method of literature survey, field investigation, comparison research and ECRS etc, do research for Cummins Isle connecting rod production line process based on fracture-split technology. Through field investigation and data statistical analysis to identify the typical defects of traditional Isle connecting rod process, based on data analysis, process technology progress and design optimization, put forward the related solutions and to reach the purpose of optimizing the Isle connecting rod machining process and machining cost reduction. Finally, use the method of comparative research and operation management research, through tooling invest and cutter consumption evaluation, equipment energy consumption and occupied space analysis, labor cost statistical analysis and the application to other products, to evaluate the Cummins Isle connecting rod production line process optimization effects.The innovation of this Paper is closed linked to the enterprise in challenges for connecting rod production, from production process optimization, and use the value engineering theory to analyze and optimize the Cummins Isle connecting rod production process, to explore cost reduction with advanced technology and shortened process, and achieve finally the significant effects of shortening the process more than 50%, and reducing single piece cost more than 25%.
