| The urban rail transit of China developed rapidly over the past ten years, and now we has the longest urban rail transit construction mileage and the fastest urban rail transit construction speed all around the world. China’s urban rail transit construction will reach more than 3000 kilometers, during the "Twelfth Five Year" period. By 2020 there will be nearly 40 cities in the construction of the subway, the total planned mileage will reach 7000 kilometers which is 4.3 times the current total mileage. In view of the rapid development of China’s urban rail transit industry, all kinds of rail transportation professionals demand more and more, especially when the new line is built and put into operation, various management and technical personnel shortages and problems begin to emerge. As a new industry, how to train high skilled personnel has become an important problem to urban rail transit.Vocational education is serve for the on-site production, so vocational college students should be based on the enterprise and facing the society. This paper is based on the work process oriented curriculum concept of urban rail transit operations management professional course development and research. On the basis of analyzing the characteristics and contents of the operation of urban rail transit, the quality and professional ability of the operation and management of urban rail transit are summarized in this paper. Through the analysis of the current situation and existing problems of urban rail transit operation and management in higher vocational colleges, taking Hebei XX Institute as an example, the development and research of the course of urban rail transit operation and management are carried out, which including the determination of curriculum objectives, curriculum content selection, curriculum implementation environment, etc., and the implementation of the curriculum objectives, the organization and implementation of curriculum content, curriculum implementation, evaluation of the study.
