With the rise of China and the rapid development of cities,transportation has become an important factor in the development of cities.In recent years,the government of the Guangxi Autonomous Region vigorously develop emerging industries such as urban rails.As a service-oriented new profession,urban rails must pay attention to urban rail English learning and will inevitably become the demand and call of the new era.How to improve the English learning of urban rail majors in secondary vocational schools is increasingly being explored and studied by scholars and teachers.This research is based on constructivist teaching theory and task-based teaching theory.On the basis of the definition,characteristics and principles of integration of theory and practice teaching method.Integration of theory and practice teaching method is the integration of professional theoretical knowledge and production practice,practical teaching environment,and teaching in the professional classroom.The theory and practice teaching mode is a kind of innovative teaching which is developed based on the "dual system" teaching model of Germany.It is a combination of theoretical teaching and practical teaching.By setting the teaching task and target,make teachers and students,teaching,learning and doing,the whole process of constructing theory and skills framework,enrich classroom teaching and practice teaching links,improve the quality of teaching.The teaching method emphasizes the cultivation of students' practical ability and professional skills,and fully mobilizes and motivates students' interest in learning.In this study,the experiment was carried out for one semester in class 1 and class 2,which belong to the secondary vocational and technical school of Liuzhou city.In the course of the experiment,students in class 1 adopted the integrated teaching method,and the traditional English teaching method was adopted for class 2 students.Before and after the experiment,all students in both classes were required to participate in pre-test and post-test,pre-questionnaire and post-questionnaire survey.In order to obtain the authenticity of the questionnaire,the questionnaire was conducted in two classes at the same time.Different questionnaires were used in the pre-questionnaire and post-questionnaire.But the questionnaire was all about the same five dimensions(learning English interest,active participation,confidence in English,understanding of the urban rail profession,fluency in English).After the experiment,10 students from the experimental class were randomly selected to interview.The purpose is to answer the following questions:(1)Whether the Integration of Theory and Practice Teaching Method can improve students' English level(2)Whether the Integration of Theory and Practice Teaching Method can improve students' interest,enthusiasm and self-confidence of learning English?The results showed that the ability of the students in the experimental class was significantly higher than that of the control class,.Interest,enthusiasm,and self-confidence of learning English are improved.And students can more understand of the urban rail profession.Although this experiment proves that the theory and practice teaching method can improve the teaching quality of professional English teaching,there are some shortcomings.The theory and practice teaching method is the first attempt in English class,and there are many places that need to be explored and improved.The author hopes that the future research can be further improved.
