Since late 1900 s, China has entered a stage of rapid urbanization for 15 years. Designers always pursuit speed in this kind of market, Inheriting from the Soviet Union, the top-down construction mode serve as the main trend to meet the rapid demand of the design market. Our construction system inherited from the Soviet Union and Top-down construction mode meet the rapid demand of the market. The design problems such as the dull method, the separation of life, the lack of interest have been revealed.Currently, the new rural construction is in booming development. Urbanization has had a devastating impact on the spatial structure of traditional villages. New Rural Construction and traditional villages update require not only the improved infrastructure but also the original culture and spatial structure of the village. How can we get double-edged sword is an urgent problem troubling government and scholars. This study takes Hongcun(World Heritage)as an example, focusing on the “free generation” of Hongcun, providing reference to the design of bottom-up.The second chapter summarizes location、physical space and history of Hongcun in the way of collecting literature and field research as basis data for future research. The third chapter introduced "Generate", research Hongcun overall space in macro view. Reach the conclusion of "emerge is generates" based on Complexity Theory and the Applying this theory to the evolution Hongcun whole space. Analysis the cause of various stages of evolution, summarizes the general evolution law of the overall space of the traditional villages、characteristics and influencing factors. The perspective of Chapter Four is more microscopic. Study the daily life of villagers such as the population, life needs, separation, family relations and how they influence the evolution of buildings from lower to higher and disorder to order. Finally, reviewed above and reflect the current urbanization construction problem. Propose specific policies in order to open up the designer’s awareness of urban construction and promote new rural construction, small town planning, protection of the historical village development.
