As far as the development of container multimodal transportation in our country, the developing level of rail-water multimodal transportation still remained a low level. With the construction of high-speed railway and improvement of railway network, the freight traffic capacity has been released greatly, and which will also create a favorable condition for the multimodal transportation. In this background, the paper takes the schedule optimization of the operation equipment in container port under the train-ship mode as the research project. The major contents are summarized as follow:(1) In order to define research objectives, the concept of container ports and rail-water multimodal transportation are introduced. After analyzing the handling equipment and technology of container ports, the research object of handling equipment in the paper is determined as quay, container truck and rail gantry crane. Moreover, layout forms of the port operations zone and railway operations zone are analyzed, and then operation organizations of rail-water multimodal transportation are discussed at different locations relationship. At last, through analyzing the operation procedure of loading and unloading and interface handling in "rail-water" mode and "rail-yard water" mode, it noted that the operation mode of this paper is to study the "rail-water" mode.(2) For the technology program of quay, container truck and rail gantry crane used widely currently, its operation bottlenecks in the course are analyzed. And on this basis, it makes it clear that collaborative scheduling optimization to be studied in this paper is how to determine the content of the handling order for various types of equipment, and how to use various types of equipment.(3) Analyzing the characteristics of the operating system under train-ship mode, then according to the form of one-way travel straight mode, selecting the unloading ship and loading train as the research object. And then a mathematical model is proposed, whose aim is to minimize the total time, and the constraints are included many factors such as number of containers, continue relational operation constraints, operation time constraints, equipment position constraints and so on. The result is to obtain optimal scheduling scheme on handling sequence of various types of equipment.(4) Through analyzing the difference between two-way interface handling and one-way in the mode of train-ship, on the basis of single direction operation model, an optimization mathematical model on two-way interface handling is proposed. In addition to the constraints of containers number and handling time, the number of import and export containers, truck waiting time and empty load distance are added to the constraints.(5) To solve above models, a two-layer genetic algorithm is studied. In addition, in order to verify the feasibility of the models, two examples about one-way and two-way interface handling are designed. The results show that the model and algorithm can effectively solve the container equipment scheduling optimization problem in the mode of train-ship.
