Being a common transportation tool in people’s life, the coach is also an important tool for Eco-friendly travel and low-carbon travel. With the wider range of use, modern coachis no longer just a transportation tool with 4 wheels. Passengers expect it to provide a more convenient, safe and comfortable experience from them. The coach has become better and better equipped, while its safety problems have drawn more and more attention to the public.This article combines current researches on coach fire situation with the wireless sensor networks technology, and then designs a set of system that can monitor inside the coach, collect coach data and locate a specific fire spot so the driver can act accordingly when a fire accident happens in a coach. The process of warning and locating is that: first, the sensors collect and process data of the coach including temperature, smoke rate and fire spot of the coach; then they analyze these data to find if there is any unusual situation; finally these data are gathered to warn the driver.In order to supervise the whole coach, this article uses the Zig Bee technology of the wireless networks, and it also uses the JN516 x chip from ENNIC company as the key to address the whole problem. This article has achieved mainly that; DV-HOP algorithm is used as the basis to improve the system since it costs low and is very practical; MATLAB2009 a is used to simulate and test the improved DV-HOP algorithm.This coach fire alert system takes advantages of Zig Bee and collects data about the coach fire through wireless networks, so it can run tests on the coach with only a few nodes. In the meantime it can also provide the fire information such as the location of the blind nodes. This system is strongly reliable, simply framed, easy to use, low costed and efficient of power consumption, and it is also likely to promote widely.
