Many institutes of science undertake a large number of scientific research projects nowadays, many of which have been brought into operation as the scientific production of MIC. Take one institute of Chinese Academy of Science for example: the researches in the institute can be used not only for the sound navigation and ranging in military but also for ultrasonic level meter in many places as well. The ultrasonic level meter is a apparatus which could measure the distance of the mine accurately and could be operated in tough zones as elevated or low temperature, high dust and so on. Many of the research and development teams take the plan management of the project more seriously at the beginning but take lack attention on the risk management. It could cause a waste of time or fund or even grave accident as the lack of risk management of the project. Therefore it is more and more be highly thought of the risk management in project nowadays. It can the project be committed smoothly only when the risk management be undertaken smoothly. This thesis explored the theory of the risk management and combined with practice project, the main work and conclusions are as follows:1. Identified the risk factors of the ULM level meter project by the method of brain storm.2. Evaluated the risk factors thoroughly and objectively meanwhile calculated the rational risk level by the methods of analytic herarchy process and risk matrix.3. Manage and control the risks of the project effectively and deduced the probabilities and the destruction of the risks by the achievement of the analysis of the risk factors.4. Established the document of risk management for the project as to feedback management.This thesis introduced the process of the Identification and analysis and management of the risk factors based on the ULM ultrasonic level meter project. It is not only necessary for the ULM team itself but could also be used for reference by other ultrasonic project.
