As the continuous development of the society, economic progress, science and technology continues to improve, the current energy problem has become an important issue. How scientific and rational use of energy is the focus of our concern. The electricity as one of the very important energy become more and more popular. Because it has an easy conversion, transport convenient, clean and No-pollution. Electricity has been deep society aspects, including agriculture, industry, transport, etc. It has become an irreplaceable driving force of the national economy, the various aspects of the role of deep production and people’s work and life in society.As human walk into the 21 st century, mankind is facing growing resource depletion crisis. Faced with this grim situation, in addition to efforts developing hydropower, nuclear power and other methods, we can also change the status of damage to the power generated by reducing linear loss during transmission. As the example of our city during 2002, the country’s total generation capacity is 1.447673 trillion k Wh, line loss rate was 7.45%. If the loss rate of the country’s bus fell 1%, during one year to reduce the energy loss of 150 million degrees, According to these data we can know how to calculate the exact power consumption, to find the cause and take line loss resulting drop loss measures are very important. Accurate calculation of line loss is not only an important indicator of power system technology but also an important indicator of management,and an important symbol of the country’s electricity. Accurate calculation of line loss is based to analyze the energy consumption structure and develop strategy to reduce loss.With the development of the power reform, people take more attention to the method of accurate calculation of line loss, and increase awareness of loss reduction, study more deeply on the optimization of line loss. As for the low-voltage distribution system, as a very important part, and it’s composed of line loss is relatively complex and require in-depth study.Through the previous article, the paper learned experience, reanalyzed the problem needs and understood the basic theoretical knowledge, propose low voltage line loss optimization based on genetic algorithms. The main contents of this work are as follows.1) Based on the understanding and studying on the basic concepts of power and Low-voltage line loss, line loss classification constitutes, the paper studied carefully several theoretical methods of the calculation of line loss, such as flow method, equivalent resistance method, voltage loss rate method. In order to understand more easily, use the equivalent resistance method for the calculation of specific examples.2) On the basis of understanding and analyzing of the low voltage system cause line loss factors, the paper studied low voltage line loss of power optimization based on genetic algorithms, with the reconstruction of the grid. In the genetic algorithm the objective function is that minimize line loss, then construct the corresponding fitness function, Next selection, crossover, mutation, and finally get optimal results.3) Comparative analysis of effect of two different line-loss analysis methods.
