The carrying capacity of Destination yard in Marshalling station is the comprehensive representation of the whole operation of the station equipments and is the reference for scientific decision-making. For the sake of making full use of the station equipments and enhancing efficiency of transport production, It is especially vital to rightly investigation, calculating and determining station capacity.The carrying capacity of Destination yard in Marshalling station contains that of throat of station and receiving-departure track, which usually becomes the bound to the carrying capacity of Destination yard. Subsequently the former replace of the latter because of the equal amount of calculating carrying capacity.Generally the model of analysis and calculation based on leisure coefficient and the average operating time will be adopted when focus on study of the carrying capacity of receiving-departure track. However, the model limited in that the compatibility will decline among different operation parts along with the development of train imbalance, which results in that the time waiting for technical examination and breaking-up process increases. It means the average time for occupying receiving-departure track will increase obviously. At that moment, the empirical formula for calculating leisure coefficient can not be equal to the practical data.To solve the above problems, the paper builds a set of methods and formulas for calculating leisure coefficient. That is to use the graphical method as the basic idea, take queuing theory as the theoretical foundation, take the computer as the simulation means, take arrival train flow rules as the data source, regarding the receiving yard as a whole system of interrelated devices, rather than a fragment to calculate the capacity of each system. Based on this, this paper use the theory of stochastic processes to work out the corrected leisure coefficient formula by simulating and analyzing the process of arriving and breaking-up system in the marshalling yard to obtain the new relationship between leisure coefficient and imbalanced arrival train flow.Innovation points such as follows:(1) Build a system of simulating and analyzing the process of arriving and breaking-up system in the marshalling yard based on discrete system. And take Liuzhou south marshaling yard as basis data source. Get numerical value of related indices such as operation rate of route, hump, car technical examination, shunting and the number of delayed trains in case of different imbalance arrival train flow. Meanwhile, fitting analysis to these related indices.(2) By using the software which can calculating and simulating leisure coefficient and developed based on diagram inserting time method, take further study for leisure coefficient at the foundation of be acquainted with arrival train flow rules.
