Product design is lack of effective knowledge model to organize and manage the knowledge, and can’t form a product design knowledge space. And the research of knowledge reuse method in product design is shortage. In order to deal with those problems, this thesis studies methods of product design knowledge reuse to improve the efficiency of product design. A multi-level extension model is developed to help the product design knowledge reuse. The technology of product design knowledge retrieval based on users’ behavior is proposed to gain more accurate knowledge during the process of product design. With the help of multi-level expansion model, the expansion model template is established. Then the knowledge template is matched and product design knowledge reuse is implemented by hierarchical iterative method. The research results of this thesis can provide some specific guidance for the reuse of product design knowledge.The first chapter introduces the product design and knowledge reuse, reviews the key technologies including product design, reuse of design knowledge. The existing problems of these technologies are discussed, and the structure of this thesis is introduced.The second chapter proposes a multi-level extension model of knowledge reuse of product design based on ontology. The process of knowledge reuse of product design is analyzed, and the concept of ontology is used to express the knowledge of product design. The multi-level extension model fused of product design knowledge is the basis of design knowledge reuse.The third chapter proposes a method of product design knowledge retrieval considering users’behavior according to the classification of design knowledge and the multi-level model of design knowledge. The implicit content of the design knowledge is dominant. Using the method of K means to cluster the design knowledge to form a data base of product design knowledge. A method of secondary retrieval is proposed based on the users’behavior, to get more in line with the design requirements of knowledge.The fourth chapter puts forward a retrieval method of multi granularity based on multi-level expansion model. With the help of multi-level expansion model, the expansion model template is established. Design step by step by using function, behavior, structure and green attribute knowledge. Finally, the process of product design knowledge is descripted based on the multi-level expansion model. Using attribute difference model similarity computing method and hierarchical iterative process can produce a series of reuse schemes of product design knowledge, then making a decision of reuse scheme of product design based on TOPSIS decision method.The fifth chapter introduces the development of the prototype system based on Visual Studio and SQL Server. The prototype system consists of knowledge management module, knowledge reuse module and user management module. And taking product design knowledge reuse of some injection molding machine as an example to verify the prototype system and research contents.The sixth chapter summarizes the achievements of this thesis, and discusses the future studies.
