The Urban Waterfront Open Space Landscape Architecture Of The Urban Context

As urbanization in our country develops rapidly, construction of new urban waterfronts and reconstruction of old urban waterfronts is required in some waterfront cities. Our country pays much more attention to the construction of urban waterfronts as the demand of ecological civilization construction and sustainable development after the 18th CPC national congress. Old urban waterfronts is a part of city memory and context, but on the other hand, their functions are lagging and outdated and no long match the demand of citizens both functional and ornamental. How to rebuild old urban waterfronts reasonably, minimize investment, avoid destroy of its context and meanwhile match the demand of citizens. How to construct new urban waterfronts reasonably, make best use of them and content the requirement of people’s daily life while urbanization expanding and new urban waterfronts developing. These questions are the research hotspots of landscape architecture of open space urban waterfronts. Landscape architecture of open space urban waterfronts has been put in practice and verified its feasibility in western countries under the direction of city context theory. Under this circumstances, how to use the special city context of our country and find the theoretical system that fit the landscape architecture of open space urban waterfronts of our country become an important solution to the problems of urbanization in our country.With this background,this thesis explores the application of city context in open space urban waterfront landscape design. Considering the related knowledge and the development of open space urban waterfront,and analyses the abroad and domestic outstanding projects of open space urban waterfront.the theory system based on city context of landscape architecture of open space urban waterfronts is proposed. And applying this theory to the landscape architecture of open space urban waterfronts in old urban area of Yibin, Sichuan. Provide reference data for future research. Conclusions are as follows,1、Development and construction of open space urban waterfront is the inevitable result of urban development.
