Calculation And Pipe Production Of Main Engine Cooling Water System Of 30000Dwt Multi-purpose Vessel

Cooling water system is one of the most important systems on ship. A large amount of heat will be produced by the running machinery on board ship. In order to assure normal working of the equipment that no excessive heat will destroy the running machinery, the excessive heat must be taken by the cooling water system.It takes the 30000dwt cargo training ship of Dalian Maritime University constructed in COSCO Shipyard (dalian) as an example. Firstly, For the general understanding of this ship, it introduces the general information of the ship and the main parameters of the main engine, generator set and the heavy lift of the ship. And it presents the technological process of the ship construction and draws the flowchart of the ship construction procedure. Cooling water system is the key object of this study, so it analyses the different types of the cooling water system used on board ship including open and close type cooling water system. Through the introduction of the different types, it studies the advantages and disadvantages of the two types. Especially, it talks the central cooling water systems including the main components in the system, and it provides the theoretical evidences for the following model selection of the cooling water system. Using the knowledge talked about, the main equipment of the cooling water system of this ship, for example, the cooling water pump, plate cooler, shell-tube cooler, pipes, expansion tank are calculated according to the laws, conventions, rules and manuals. And according to the calculation result, it selects the model of the pumps, coolers, pipes and expansion tanks.Nowadays, the pipes is the most important components in the ship construction. It analyzes the production of the steel pipes and Cu-Ni pipes used in cooling water system. Because the sea water cooling pipes of this ship uses the Cu-Ni pipes, it studies the welding parameters, cautions in the production procedure and acceptance standard of the Cu-Ni pipes especially. It researches the arrangement and installation of the cooling water systems according to the rules and standards. Then, it gives my own think of the ship construction and pipe production.
