At present, the favorite subject of the Motorists is the efficiency and quality of vehicle daily maintenance and fault diagnosis. To the automobile maintenance personnel, it represents high standards in the field of maintenance. Especially the fuel injection system, ignition system, electronic Automatic Transmission, ABS and some other electronic system, it has sealed construction, complex composition. It’s the core of the automotive electronics and the difficulty of the maintenance study. According to domestic and foreign research status and current problems, we want to develop a kind of engine fault simulation best bench, which has clear principle, intuitive and easy to operate, safe and reliable and can effectively achieve the teaching function and meet the students’practical operation. Combined with the basic structure and principle, we developed the typical vehicle electronic control system fault simulation training platform. This paper mainly does research in the following aspects:(1) State the necessary of the development of the fault simulation test bench of engine electronic system based on practical vehicles.Analyze the current situation of vehicle maintenance industry and practical teaching of automobile major; understand the current application of training equipment; analyze the practical teaching status quo at home and abroad; put forward the development and application significance of the fault simulation test bench of engine electronic system based on practical vehicles.(2)Have a thorough research to the engine electrical system of practical vehicles.Make a research on basic structure and operating principle of the engine electrical system of Audi A6L, and we also analyzed its’common faults, the case of its’faults and failure diagnosis methods, which provides a theoretical research foundation of the common malfunction simulation of electronic control system.(3) Put forward the fault simulation method of the test bench of engine electronic system.In this paper, we use analog circuit and switch control type of engine electronic control system fault simulation method in various sensors, actuators, control unit ECU and the possible damage of components in electronic circuits, short circuit, open circuit, poor contact, signals missing or deviation fault of analog circuit with control, which realized the common fault simulation and demonstration of electric control system based on the external engine test bench.(4) Development of the fault simulation test bench of engine electronic system of Audi A6L.Based on the analog circuit fault simulation method and switch control type, in the thesis, we developed the engine electronic control system fault simulation training platform of the Audi A6L car. The training platform can realize fault setting only by the on-off switch control circuit. And in order to realize failure analysis, detection and elimination, and fault detection and diagnosis of training, it can be directly test the electrical signals of the sensors, the actuators and the pin of the engine control unit on the panel.(5) Have the experiment test of the fault simulation test bench of engine electronic system of Audi A6L.With this test bench, we conducted a series of typical fault simulation and diagnosis of Audi A6L engine electronic control system. The test result shows that the bench which we designed in the paper can simulation and demonstration the fault reliably. And its principle is clear, intuitive, safe and reliable. It has a practical significance for the training of engine fault detection and diagnosis.
