During society Sustained and rapid socio-economic development, led China’s urbanization, the rapid development of the car, thus making the traffic demand especially sharp increase in road traffic. To meet growing traffic demand in recent years, urban transport infrastructure investment to increase, faster, we have made considerable progress. However, traffic problems still sharp, and intensified. Maneuverability of urban public transit network planning for urban development play an important role. In this paper, network planning in the public transportation network characterization, bus demand forecasts, generate models, examples and calculation program evaluation and so on.In the public transportation network characteristics analysis, analyzing the characteristics of conventional road network, for ShuangYang District, Changchun City bus lines non-linear coefficient, traffic density line network, cable network coverage, coverage of bus stops and other parameters were calculated and analyzed appear some bus lines network can not meet the long-term development of the city, the need for overall line network optimization.Traffic demand forecast, the paper in the "four-stage method" predict framework, traffic forecasting methods have been studied to predict the characteristics of a comparative analysis method, an improved method and related parameters, calibration methods.On the base of analyzing the bus and its impact on the optimization goal for the current problems of urban public transportation network optimization, improving passenger service levels and business point of interests, the establishment of a public transportation network optimization model, the mathematical theory analysis, which ensure the effectiveness of the model solution.Finally, under the existing road infrastructure conditions proposed line network planning short and long term, and plan a technical analysis and evaluation to obtain satisfactory results.
