Investigation And Research On The Traditional Villages、Dwellings And Construction Skills Of Masonry Cave In The City Of Yangquan,East Of Shanxi Province

Based on a lot of fieldwork and face- to- face interviews, this paper is a research on the traditional villages、dwellings and construction skills of masonry cave by means of inductive analysis in the city of Yangquan, east of Shanxi Province.This paper is comprised of three parts.The first part of the body is an introduction of the location、history、geographic and geomorphic conditions、climatic hydrologic conditions、local resources and commercial development in the city of Yangquan, east of Shanxi Province.Meanwhile,this part introduces the types and geographical distribution of the traditional villages in that area and reveals the relation between the villages and the geography and commerce.Finally,this part analyzes and comprehends the villages,based on the analysis of material and intangible elements of them,and presents public buildings in the villages.The second part of the body analyzes the dwellings in the city of Yangquan, east of Shanxi Province based on the analysis of courtyard space conformation、single building types and building culture. And then reveals the diversities and culture of the vernacular architecture.The third part of the body records the construction skills of masonry caves,the most typical buildings in the city of Yangquan, east of Shanxi Province,and tries to understand and reveal the explicit skills as an intangible cultural heritage on the occasion that traditional architects are fading away.
