Research And Design Of Waterfront Space Based On New-type Urbanization

In the early 20th century, our city rapidly developed on the basis of industrial economic’s quick expansion, in the meanwhile,the city began to be limited by a variety of urban problems gradually; The late 20th century, in order to realize the sustainable development of cities, cities began to explore more rational development model in our country, after which new town development trend sparked a flurry in major cities. Under the background of new urban development pattern, the urban waterfront area,as the city landscape exihibition, is endowed with more expection.In this paper, xianghu lake city waterfront space landscape design was set as an example to study the possible future planning of waterfront space, and its potential role in the transformation of city to realize the goal of building the waterfront area as a new city zone.The development of urban waterfront area is a dynamic process, the landscape design is a result of the combined action of the multi-discipline knowledge. This research mainly stared from the aspects of regional water cultural origin and human culture, to explore the physical form and abstract form of local characteristics’s guidance for the water area landscape, then design the urban waterfront landscape to become a characteristic window of a city.
