When I start to choice this topic, the real estate market in China has face a big change. The urban development in China has gradually from the rapid expansion turn to stock plan which use the urban renovation as the main manner. As the most common type of residential buildings in China. The research of the renovation for multi-storey apartment has practical significance for development of urban in China in the future.The research of the renovation for multi-storey apartment in China start very late. and have a big distance compared with western countries in this field. but china has a huge number of multi-storey apartment, so this research has a good prospect for development. As has the biggest number of multi-storey apartment among western countries, Germany has already found a mature renovation system which is fit to its own national situation.In this thesis, I choice the old multi-storey apartment between China and Germany as main object, discuss in detail about the renovation background、policy、ideas and methods between China and Germany. and use the vertical and horizontal analysis and comparative research methods to compare the renovation of the multi-storey apartment at all levels among these two countries, this thesis try to analyze the difference between China and Germany in renovation of multi-storey apartment, summarize the problem which is usual in the field of multi-storey apartment renovation in China, extract and summarize the renovation methods and ideas from Germany which is useful to china. hope this thesis can provide a valuable reference to the renovation of multi-storey apartment in China.
