With the changing models of teaching and innovation of Campus Space, the construction of university campus today shows a sustained trend. Under this trend, amount of factors including efficient use of building space, increasing material and spiritual demands of people are rising the new requirements for the construction of contemporary university campus and the future campus buildings development. From a professional point of contemporary architects, university public spaces directly affects the orderly order of teaching and life in universities. The wrong understand of the function of public space and use of university space may cause dislocation, and even lead to university life into chaos. In this essay, the writer will start with the point--Design of public space in University Architecture, and will go further with the analysis and research of design in Campus Space under the introduction of the psychological term "belonging".The main object of the essay is public space in campus, which is the largest area within the projection range of university building, including building interior public spaces(such as:atrium, hallway, transportation space, etc.) and building edge and building associated public spaces(such as: corridor, entrance, gray space, etc.).The paper is divided into three parts.The first part corresponding to the first chapter,mainly understanding and analysis of the sense of belonging,the concept of public space design basis,so as to study how to “a sense of belonging ”to apply to architectural design;The second portion correspond to the second&third chapter.Mainly through the compilation of relevant theoretical and analyze the development path of university architecture public space and the present situation,provide a powerful theoretical foundation and reference;The third part corresponding to the forth&fifth chapter,mainly as university building public space a starting point,combining theory and practice,separately from the space a sense of belonging and design techniques of cognitive perspectives,reveals the contemporary university public spaces comprehensive and diversified activities connotation,which can measure and analyze to the calculation,so that people can appreciate the space a sense of belonging.And providing a reference mode to the designer in the architectural design.The paper with the concept of organization,case analysis,practical inquiry and summary.Study and research the a sense of belonging University of Architecture.And learning the predecessors research results.To create an appropriate university public space for contemporary college teachers and students as well as city people,which made a contribution to the university public space design theory.
