Tubular belt conveyor is a new type of green transportation machinery, in the conveying process, the belt can wrap material and convey closed, and it well solves the problem of ordinary belt conveyor about dust. Tubular belt conveyor has the advantages of sharp inclination transportation, three-dimensional curves, avoiding the trouble that ordinary belt conveyor reproduces in the complex transport routes and the complexity mechanics mechanism of core components. The prospect of its application is very extensive, it’s very necessary to understand and study.Because of special structure, requirements on the conveyor are high, and the conveyor needs to bear the tension which mainly contain the traction of drive roller, the constraining force of hexagon supporting roller group, conveyor belt tension in the rolled into tubular. Optimization of the conveyor belt tension, not only reduce the requirements of the conveyor belt selection, but also save costs.This paper introduce tubular belt conveyor’s basic theory, and proposed a new type of intermediate driving device on the basis of the theory, it will be used in inclined section, switch the downward drag into lift drag, solve the problem of conveyor belt with tearing tension concentration parts, at the same time, the device can reduce the conveying belt’s maximum tension value, but also reduce the driving power of the motor. The tubular belt conveyor of maximum transmission angle is 90 degrees, namely vertical lift, if verification and research on the part of the theory, it will be able to greatly reduce the material in the vertical lifting the transport cost for continuous vertical ascension and provide a new way of vertical lifting, Based on research of conveying belt tension in the vertical lifting,it is proposed to change the vertical segment of idler spacing,so that maximum tension will be reduce in transmission scheme, and on this basis, experiment research was designed. The study main help of Lab VIEW and DAQ assistant with strain gauge measurement, collecting and analyzing the experimental data, contrasted the experimental test value and theoretical value finally.The last part of the article is about selection of design and calculation of tubular belt conveyor in main shaft. On the front of the theoretical and experimental are practically verified, obtained the conclusion of using optimization model can reduc the conveying belt tension, not only maintains technical rigour, but also has a systematic understanding and research on the tubular belt conveyor design. So that lay the foundation for the future further research study tubular belt conveyor.
