With the wide application of belt conveyor, the development trend of large belt conveyor mainly concentrate on long-distance, large-capacity, high-power direction.Intermediate multi-point drive belt conveyor is an important method.It not only solve the long-distance transport and nontransfer of materials,but also can reduce belt tension.The tensioning device is an important components of the belt conveyor and its performance determines the normal safety operation and life time.Therefore,it is necessary to improve the performance of large conveyor by studing multi-point drive belt conveyor and tensioning device.This paper analyzed the characteristics and development condition of traditional conveyor and tensioning device.It is based on the multi-point driven design and layout principles.In order to solve multi-machine driven power balance, driving device and control system are designed through program demonstration.In the progress of ensioning and tightening trip of conveyor belt,it put up forward an automatic tensioning device design proposal by designing hydraulic systems and electrical control systems of the tensioning device.The working principle of the hydraulic system has been explained, and made a selection of some of the important elements;electronically controlled part of tensioning device adopts PLC control program, using STEP7-Micro / WIN32 software debugging and simulation program.With the help of the dynamic analysis,a mathematical model of the system’s main component is established.In order to obtain a mathematical model of the entire belt conveyor tensioning device, the finite element method is applied to unify each discrete mathematical model. It verifys the feasibility of the system by Using the MATLAB’s SIMULINK simulation software to simulate conveyor tensioning device.In order to realize the tension and loose function,the tension device can adjust the tension of the belt in a short time on different conditons of belt conveyor.During the operation of the conveyor, the conveyor belt is to ensure less vibrations caused by shock,and the better control effect is achieved.
