Research On The Development Of Haiphong Port Logistics Vietnam

Ports are the starting and ending points in the trade system since they connect both sea and inland transport. A Port is the node of maritime transport, inland transportation, international trade, and the coastal industrial zone. They are also important to the development of coastal economies. Therefore, efficient and reasonable cost of transportation is a basic requirement for economic development. One example of the importance of the port can be seen in Vietnam who relies on its ports to ship 90% of its import and export volume. The port is, in the background of economic globalization. Port Logistics itself has enormous potential. Properly developing port logistics will bring great benefits and chances to the Vietnamese economy.Haiphong development goal at present is to create efficient transportation capacity, to develope container transportation and to construct effective mamagment systerm of port logistics and port logistics service diversification. Haiphong port logistics development is now in the process of expansion and perfection, port logistics system is not perfect and there are many problems. Therefore, this article studies the port development level of port logistics, hoping to put forward some effective countermeasures and suggestions on the development of it.First, this article which based on the analysis of the port logistics development of Vietnamese Haiphong Port, combined with the transportation economy theory to analyze the problems existing in the port logistics development. Secondly, using the SWOT analysis method to study the advantages, disadvantages, opportunities and challenges of the development. Finally, aiming at the existing problems to the port logistics development,this article puts forward countermeasures and suggestions, including strengthening macroeconomic management, formulating long-term development planning; strengthening the industry association to guide the business and improving the port service conditions, strengthening the construction of talent team.
